Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name, location, or other query into a search box, the query is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Morgan County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its receipt and handling of that query.
Emails and Other Messages
If a visitor sends an email or submits a contact message, we retain the supplied contact details and message long enough to review and respond. Message information is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard web systems can record basic technical and usage data whenever a page loads. This information helps diagnose errors, measure traffic, and understand how the site performs. It may include:
- the visitor's Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when available; and
- the date and time of each request.
Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to measure site use and remember technical preferences. A visitor can block or remove cookies through browser controls. Some search, measurement, or advertising features may then work differently or may not function.
How Information Supports the Site
Collected information is used only for operating, measuring, and improving the site and the services presented through it. Typical uses include:
- keeping pages available, stable, and responsive;
- sending a search request to the selected partner service;
- learning which Morgan County release resources visitors use;
- detecting and correcting technical faults; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Government and Third-Party Links
Morgan County Released Inmates links to receiving-jail resources, Kentucky courts, the Kentucky Department of Corrections, VINE, federal custody locators, public-record material under the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's own privacy policy and data practices apply. We do not control those outside systems.
Advertising providers may use their own technologies to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking takes place on the provider's systems under its policies, not as a record stored directly by this site.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be transmitted or disclosed to the parties needed to operate the site or comply with law:
- search partners that process a query submitted to their tool;
- analytics services that measure visits and performance;
- advertising networks that deliver or measure ads; and
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid court order or legal demand.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to protect information from unauthorized access or misuse. No website, network, transmission method, or storage service is completely secure. Morgan County Released Inmates cannot promise that a breach, loss, or interception will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, a request may be sent through the listed contact channel so the information can be reviewed and deleted where applicable.
Choices About Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a person may ask us to take the following actions concerning personal information held directly by this site:
- provide a copy of the information;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- erase information when a valid deletion right applies; or
- stop certain processing when an applicable opt-out right exists.
These requests do not control records held by Morgan County, a receiving jail, KDOC, a court, VINE, a federal agency, or a search partner. Each outside record holder applies its own law and request process.
Changes to This Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised when site practices, services, or legal requirements change. The updated wording will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after publication is subject to the revised notice.
